Rose Heights Merino was established at Freshwater Creek by Mark Carroll in 1992. The name was changed to Woodlands Merino in 2022.
2012: Pregnancy scanning was introduced
2014: Pooginook bloodlines were introduced
2015: Ewe flock base increased with introduction of additional Pooginook bred ewes
2015: EID tags were introduced
2015: External visual sheep classing commenced
2016: DNA profiling was undertaken - merino production indexed 141, flock percentile 40%
2016: Achieved SustainaWOOL green status
2016: Hogget fleece testing began
2018: Ceased mulesing
2019: Became a member of the AUTHENTICO® Integrity Scheme
2019: The Woodlands property was purchased
2020: The Freshwater Creek property was sold
2020: The flock was relocated to Woodlands
2020: Pasture improvement commenced at Woodlands
2020: Biodiversity groundwork commenced
2021: DNA flock profile undertaken - merino production indexed 150, flock percentile 15%
2022: Became a ZQ certified grower
2022: Achieved the RWS standard
